Yes. Colamo tiles are designed for easy DIY installation. For detailed cutting and installation steps, please refer to the Colamo Tile Installation Guide.

Yes! 🙋‍♀️Our tiles feature a rigid core and are thick enough to naturally bridge over deep grout lines.

However, try to ensure the surface is as flat as possible. If your existing tiles have texture, we recommend lightly sanding the surface.

For extra security on uneven surfaces, you can add some adhesive, like a spray adhesive to ensure proper bonding.

Before installation, use an all-purpose cleaner to remove any grease or residue. Always make sure the surface is dry and dust-free to ensure the best adhesion.

For best results, a smooth and flat surface is always recommended.

However, our peel and stick tiles can still be installed on lightly textured walls, such as orange peel. We’ve had many customers successfully apply them directly without sanding.

What to expect:

  • Minor Gaps: On textured surfaces, you may notice that some tiles don’t sit perfectly flush—this is normal. A simple fix is to apply silicone caulk (just like grout) between the tiles. This helps fill small gaps and creates a cleaner, more finished look.
  • Extra Security: If you are concerned about the wall texture affecting the bond, applying a bit of spray adhesive (such as 3M Super 77) to the wall before installation can provide extra peace of mind and ensure the tiles stay firmly in place.

Love this tile - it’s perfect for my kitchen rehab - looks like real ceramic tile- I wish you could buy smaller quantities- only needed 2 more, but only available In boxes of 12, overall a decent product. We had no problem cutting it, easy to install

Great alternative to ceramic tile & grout!

These are a great option instead of ceramic tile and grout. Easy to work with and stick like crazy! I needed to adjust a section and it took off the paint and some of the sheetrock!

I love the glassy shiny and the quality of the material is great.

Classic design, great quality

Turned out beautifully as a backsplash in our kitchen. We ended up using a circular saw with a guide for straight cuts and an oscillating corded tool (around $30) with a end cut saw blade to cut around outlets (more jagged finish). I also made paper patterns and used a dry erase marker to mark out cuts on the tile before installing around the outlets and the window! Just make sure you start off the row perfectly straight, otherwise you'll have gaps. We've had this tile on our wall for five months-still as good as the first day and looks real.

I WILL BE DAMNED! We used a paper cutter... (like in school) to cut the material. Easy. Install easy. It came out great (I hope it sticks if not we will just use some glue).

great product

Best way to work is to spread a towel on countertop, and use a short piece of 2x4 or scrap wood to cut on and use metal ruler and sharp utility knife. Score it and snap it. Give some thought to electrical outlets. You can either loosen the electrical outlets boxes or use spacers to move outlets out even with your new work. I set the various pieces in place without removing paper backing to be sure several fit together. Then remove backing and gently put them in place, your can still adjust them before applying pressure. Then when you are satisfied push them against the wall. The sticky backings and quality of material is excellent. It looks remarkably like tile. Like most things in life take your time, think about what your doing. I was applying them on plywood, so I painted plywood with Bin primer. Wonderful upgrade. Real tile wouldn't look any better

Tile looks real.

This tile was purchased for my kitchen backsplash. It was easy to work with and it is really sticky which means it’ll stay put. I like the smooth shiny surface for easy cleaning. Looks like real tile. I love it!

Kitchen backsplash

These tiles are beautiful and look amazing! I purchased these as an inexpensive backsplash for my kitchen However, they are really difficult to cut. I bought these based on the reviews. Most people say they are easy to cut. They are NOT. I tried tile cutters and utility knives. Yes. Multiple utility knives. Nothing was working. Until I found the scalpel utility knife. Worked very well to score and snap but intricate cuts around outlets and cupboards are not easy. Purchase extra tiles for backups-you will very likely need them.

Great product

After seeing so many adhesive backsplashes basically being a sticker, i was so relieved to find this product. Exactly what I was looking for to use in laundry area. Im not sure i would use it in a highly used/messy area like kitchen, but this is a great alternative to dealing with mortar, grout, cutting tiles etc. It looks 100% real in my opinion and the adhesive is very strong so make sure you put it on right the first time.

Excellent!

I was anxious about the application but once I got the hang of it I was confident with the process. I used a utility knife and straight edge to score the tiles where needed and they snapped off at that score line. I’ve been trying to hide and (put up with) my backsplash for two years, and finally took the plunge to at least try this. Budget-fix for the win! These are GORGEOUS and absolutely do not look like peel-and-stick tile. I JUST applied them, so fingers crossed that they last.

so much beater than you think…

I begrudgingly bought these thinking my project wouldn’t look great, but needed a compromise because tiling was out of the question.
The quality of these sheets is amazing and there is no way anyone would ever know they were “stick on”
The process was quick and easy, no mess, and amazing results.
I will defiantly use this brand again.

Amazing product!

Installed these glossy subway tiles in our kitchen and the result exceeded my expectation. It was fairly easy to cut and apply. The adhesive is very sticky so make sure you have it all lined up before pressing against the wall. I decided to add black grout to the seams, which gives it more texture and pulls everything together.

This set is so beautiful and elegant.

Love the shine it gives to the kitchen. Only wish it was easier to cut so you will definitely require a tool to make even cuts. You get a lot in one box I was able to complete behind the stove, backsplash behind the bathroom sink and a cubby area in the kitchen with more left over.

Absolutely thrilled with these!

I have tried many peel & stick tiles over time for various projects, and I have to say, these are by far the NICEST ones I've ever seen, and far more realistic. The tiles come in a 12x12 square but the actual tiles themselves are separate pieces of plastic (or whatever material they're made of). So the grout lines are real, actual crevices as opposed to what you usually see with peel & stick tile -- which is a solid sheet with the "grout lines" painted a different color, or maybe slightly debossed to create the illusion of the crevices between tiles. Also, the tiles have a good weight to them and are super glossy, so they definitely don't look like just cheap lightweight pieces of plastic film. They are easy to work with and to install. Adhesion is strong and seems like it will last. I have used mine in an area where there is no water or heat, so I can't speak to how well they will hold up against those elements. Overall I am THRILLED with these.

First I have to say, I have been looking at stick on tiles for years and haven’t been impressed. The quality, design, placing ease, and cost of this upgrade are amazing. The next part I will finish with the help of a band saw.

Amazingly Authentic-Looking

After two former disappointing attempts at peel-and-stick tiles, I tried these COLAMO white subway tiles and - HALLELUJAH -- they look great! Third time's a charm, I guess. These are much thicker and, importantly, they have a glossy reflective shine that really makes them look authentic. (The others I tried had a matte vinyl finish that screamed fake.) I did have to buy two more sets of these, however, to finish the job along the wall shown in pic. And the thicker tiles also means they're much more challenging to cut. Luckily, I had the proper tools to make the job go a little easier: An Exacto knife to score the tiles, and heavy-duty scissors for cutting. (Regular scissors won't cut it, so to speak.) The adhesion is very good but make sure the peel-off paper is completely peeled off. (The paper tends to rip at the corners and remain attached.) Also, make sure walls are clean before applying -- and take your time with the entire process.

The bottom line is these tiles are a bit more pricey than some, and more challenging to cut through and apply -- so, are they worth it? YES!!! The end result is a beautiful shiny backsplash that looks amazingly like the real thing. Highly recommend!

Beautiful! The perfect peel and stick subway tile

I've been obsessively searching and researching for renter friendly peel-and-stick backsplash for my rental apartment for months. I finally found this product after a long rabbit hole and it's perfect. It's a lot more thick, stiff, and high-quality than most of the peel-and-stick out there. This is more like a hard plastic-like material, each rectangle is a separate "brick" but connected with one piece of sticky backing (which has a slightly foamed so you can really pressed it on). It makes a nice clack sound when I tap it with my finger nails!

But let me tell you, making thosee cuts around the outlets was the worst. I only had a bunch of utility knives/box cutters and I tried to make a fast template to fit it around the outlet. It was my first time doing this and I really sucked at it. I recommend watching some YouTube tutorials on how to easily do difficult cuts like this. Luckily I managed it and disguised my mistake with some caulking. Straight across cuts are MUCH easier cause you can score the tile, then press firmly to snap it.

Regardless, I love this product so much! I want to try another style for my bathroom!

Though... I have not tried to peel it off... 🙃
